What’s Your New Year’s Resolution?

Well, we’re well into January already and the festive season seems a long time ago. All that stress and preparation for a couple of days gathering and socialising – if you were lucky.  It can be stressful juggling all the family dynamics and doing your best to keep everyone happy. But not feeling so good about yourself.

Now it’s time to contemplate the new year and decide whether to have a New Year’s Resolution or not.

The challenge is to come up with something that you really want and can attain, even if it takes the whole year.

However, from experience, and knowing the vagaries of your ego, you’ll probably choose something that is totally out of reach, and you’ll end up giving up early on as you can’t seem to make any forward steps in achieving your goal.

My recommendation is to think of something that:-

  1. Would make a significant impact on your sense of self

  2. Is something you could master given time

  3. You have a way of measuring your progress

  4. There is someone you can bounce ideas off and keep you on track when you start to stray off course or lose motivation.
