How Do You Eat An Elephant?
You know the phrase “how do you eat an elephant?” Answer - one small bite at a time.
This is a simple analogy for you to focus on when approaching any challenge, be it emotional, mental, physical or spiritual. It’s too difficult to contemplate nutting out the core issue behind your troubles in one hit. Your ego won’t allow it anyway.
Be gentle with yourself, and make a pragmatic start in a small achievable way.
That might simply mean that you sit with the issue and do some writing about it. Have no plan, no agenda. Simply write your thoughts and emotions down.
Don’t hold back on the words you use. If you are angry with someone express that anger on paper. Use all the expletives you like. Off load any hurt or sadness too. Really express your emotions as you are experiencing them. This will shift the weight off your mind and release it onto paper.
You’ll experience more relief from this exercise if you hand write everything rather than type. There’s something mysteriously psychological that gets to the subconscious through this pen to paper process.
Be frank with yourself and totally open and honest. Say things you wouldn’t say to anyone else. You don’t need to fear being judged. You are safe. It’s only you expressing your inner feelings.
Once you’ve let it all out. Destroy the paper with respect for having released the emotions. Burning is perfect if you can do this. Otherwise shredding is OK.

You all have different life experiences and wisdom to contribute. It’s magical when you feel this sense of belonging and know that you matter.
